Private commissions working to brief and capturing the spirit of the dogs.
I am deeply passionate about our 4 legged friends. Working outdoors in all weathers is challenging and rewarding, often getting the type of shots others would shy away from because of the discomfort involved in squatting in rivers, lying in mud or on a pavement in front of passers by.
COMMISSIONED WORK - Children and their pet dogs
These private commissions are shot from the heart. I have a deep understanding of the love a child feels towards their partner in crime and the mischief they can both get up to.
Photographers children invariably become fed up of being thier parents muse
Even the dog runs out of patience sometimes, but she mostly puts up with it, these three are from a series of images reflecting how they are always their in the background for her, a constant presence in her life.
PERSONAL STUDIO WORK
Characters created for book week, Skullduggery Pleasant, BFF - Best Friends Forever,
Not wanting to be weighed down by my usual equipment, I challenged myself by only bringing a 17-35 mm lens with me on a flying visit to New York . Dodging traffic means creating images on the hoof, this lady did not stand still for long and I always wonder what she is looking at- her own reflection or the buildings around her?
I would love to develop a deeper understanding of street photography and it would be challenging to bring it a more local context.
I asked if I could accompany my chidrens school on a trip to London as I wanted to challenge myself with an interesting reportage project. I did not know any of the children and thought it interesting to record a school going on a protest - you will see the police watching as they tie black ribbons to the railings of the MOD building as an anti-war demonstration. I would like to challenge my preconceptions of reportage and delve deeper into storytelling imagery.
The Cheeswring in Cornwall - I would very much like to deveop my landscape work.
My interest in Macro photography developed as a direct result of lockdown, challenging myself in a world that had become smaller meant another world of opportunites opened up photographically. All shot ooutside my house - this is something I would like to develop further.
The flesh fly sits upon a throne of scarlet petals.
Oseteospurmum, natrual daylight and a shady pavement.
Project sequence, this would be the hanging order if printed for exhibition
